Dedary Kryimana Ubud Review

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the 4* Dedary Kryimana in Ubud for three  nights. Not far from the city and nestled amongst the picturesque rice fields, the resort is an ideal place to start your Ubud adventure. The drive from Canggu took us around one hour and we were immediately welcomed by true balinese hospitality. First impression… I don’t ever want to leave.

The resort is located around 15 minutes from the centre of Ubud and offers guests a free shuttle service 6 times a day, every day of the week. This was a super helpful and convenient service for us, taking off the pressure of figuring out how we travel around Bali and saving us from being scammed by the expensive taxis.

We stayed in one of their Garden Villas which boasted a tropical oasis and private pool. A  dream of mine has always been to stay in accommodation such as this, so what better place to experience it than in Bali. I seriously recommend anyone on their honeymoon or looking for luxury to treat yourself to a pool villa.

Don’t get me started on the bed. It was the biggest bed I have ever seen. I mean, you couldn’t miss it! It stood so elegantly in the middle of the bedroom with beautiful soft draping and the comfiest mattress in the world. A bed of royalty. I have to confess the first thing I did was run and jump on it, I couldn’t resist. At the back of our bedroom was our bathroom. His and hers sinks, an outdoor shower and the most beautiful bath tub overlooking Bali’s nature. Nature is very much a huge aspect of this resort.

The villa was equipped with its own outdoor kitchen and lounge area, not that we planned on doing any cooking but the option was there. Farley however, definitely made use of the mini bars Bintang supply. The villa was equipped with WiFi, a TV, safety box, music dock and laundry facilities. They have thought of everything you might need and more and if it’s not there, just ask, we found they will bend over backwards to ensure their guests are happy.

Breakfast is included in your stay at Dedary Kryimana and there are two ways I would suggest having it. The first, a floating breakfast. We had this delivered to our villa one morning during our stay and it was presented to us in a floating woven basket in our private pool. We had waffles, pancakes, fruit, eggs, pastries, yoghurt, juices and hot drinks. The second way to have your breakfast at the Dedary Kryimana is to have a romantic breakfast in bed. This will be presented on a large tray placed over the bed, sprinkled with red flower petals. We weren’t on our honeymoon but we had to try it!

I promise we did leave the villa during our stay. We ate in their restaurant several times and the 360 degree open air views over the rice paddies made it a stunning place to be at any time of the day, in particular sunset. The restaurant is open all day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and with the food being so delicious we never ate out.

The Dedary Kryimana features a gorgeous spa in which I was very tempted to book myself in for the chocolate spa treatment, but instead Farley and I enjoyed a couples Balinese massage which was unBALIeveable. You won’t believe it, but neither of us have ever had a massage. Despite Farley giggling like a girl because he is so ticklish the massage was memorable, relaxing and relieving.

There are plenty of activities available to guests at the Dedary Kryimana. You could begin your day with a private yoga session or a morning walk amongst the rice fields. Or perhaps enjoy a visit to the local Ubud market and pick up food to cook with the chef during a traditional balinese cooking class. We experienced the resorts private nature adventure where we were taken by the hotel guide on a bike ride through endless views of coconut trees and rice fields until we ended up at a secret waterfall. It was a breath of fresh air finding something so unknown to the world and somewhere that is unbeknown to Instagram.

Last but not least, I have to mention the staff. The employees at Dedary Kryimana genuinely love what they do. This may be a bold statement but it was the best customer service we’ve ever received in our lifetimes. From the moment we checked in we felt like royalty, nothing was too much for them.

The only regret I have about the Dedary Kryimana is not staying longer. There is so much to see in Ubud and this resort is the perfect place to base yourselves. We had three of the most memorable days here and without a doubt will be returning in the future. We highly recommended staying at the Dedary Kryimana Ubud, it is a genuinely exceptional experience.
