I’ve reached a point in my life, call it a ‘Quarter Life Crisis’ where I have absolutely no clue what I want to do, so I couldn’t think of anything better than quitting my career and booking a one way ticket to Australia 🇦🇺

I’ve been on this earth for 23 years and I would say I’ve lived it inside a safety bubble. I’ve never been mischievous, or a rule breaker and I’m certainly not one for adrenaline or adventure. Growing up, my family nicknamed me “Panic Pants” or “Miss Health & Safety” which I must admit I still get called to this day. I guess it doesn’t help when you ask for a first aid kit for Christmas…

After that confession you’re probably wondering “what the heck is this girl doing?” Well you’re probably right, I am super nervous and way out of my comfort zone but I am also beyond excited at what’s about to come my way.

I want to be able to throw myself out of a plane, dive with sharks, camp in the wild, climb a mountain, take a hot air balloon ride, go kayaking, walk under a waterfall and so much more! I want to look back with no regrets and say yes to absolutely everything and anything. I’m want this adventure to bring me out of my safety bubble and stop me from being such a nervous ninny about life!

Speaking of nerves, I am mentally preparing myself for the creatures that may try to kill me along the way; spiders🕷, snakes🐍, sharks🦈 and crocodiles🐊 just to name a few (not sure how useful my first aid kit will be in one of these situations). Spiders are my biggest fear that I would like to overcome but I was told the other day that the Huntsman can jump?! I am seriously reconsidering the trip…

I will however be travelling with one safety net, my boyfriend of 3 years, Farley. He is the complete opposite of me in that he loves adventure, he’s daring and he makes his own rules. He is brilliant in stressful situations and encourages me not to get so worked up about little things in life. I couldn’t think of anyone better to share this experience with.

So that’s a little introduction to my life, on Wednesday 31st January I am officially “funemployed” and just a week away from the biggest adventure and longest flight of my life – did I mention I’m scared of flying?

I’ve created this blog to share my travel journey with you and keep you up to date on the adventure.

Catch you later
